About CBelme Photography

I started CBelme Photography right out of college in southern California. It started as a hobby and side gig, but with the encouragement of friends and a little self confidence, I was able to turn it into my career and passion. I started out doing portraits and event photography here and there, and even had my landscape and travel work featured in a pop-up gallery in Manhattan Beach. From there, CBelme Photography has grown and spread its wings. I completed the Birth Becomes Her birth photographer workshop a few years back, as well as a black and white film photography course in Los Angeles. I spent a year traveling the countryside, living in my van Rex, documenting America’s public lands and those who recreate on them for a public lands awareness and conservation project I call Van For Public Land. Together with Shaw, we’ve shot mountain valley weddings in Colorado; lifestyle and portrait sessions on the beaches of Los Angeles; special occasions, births, and charity events throughout the West; and even family reunions at epic ranches in Montana. We love to travel, and traveling for photography is all the better.

The more of this country and world we see, the more we want to capture and be able to share with others. We do a lot of landscape and travel documentary photography, but we think the coolest thing ever is getting to experience epic moments of people’s lives with them, getting to capture it all on camera so they can cherish those memories forever, be it a trip, birthday, reunion, engagement, wedding, or typical Tuesday - life’s always an adventure worth remembering.

About Catherine

I'm a Colorado girl at heart with a sense of wanderlust that’s brought me all over the world and country. I started photography as a kid - spending most of the 90s with a stash of disposable cameras and replacing my wallpaper with photos of family, dogs, friends, and beautiful places. After a handful of point and shoots, my parents gifted me a Nikon D40 in college to document shenanigans studying abroad in China and traveling with friends. Since then I’ve fallen in love all over again with shooting on film, and upgraded my digital to a mirrorless system.

Photography has taken me all over the globe and the country. I think my favorite photos I’ve taken are a mix of weddings, family, and portraits from all over the country as well as adventure and landscape photos taken everywhere from Iceland to New Zealand to Columbia and in between.

Shaw and I are newly married, and it has reinforced my love for couples, family, and wedding photography. I cherish the photos we have of us and our new family, and am thrilled to be able to provide those kind of sentimental memories and keepsakes to others <3.

We’re currently booking up for the next year, so use the contact page to get in touch!

About Shaw - Assistant Photographer

Shaw was born and raised in southern California, where he and I met working at a mom & pop restaurant down by the beach. We instantly became inseparable, as Shaw showed me around his favorite spots to camp and hike and we explored new places together. I don’t joke about always having a camera in hand when exploring and I think my obsession just kind of poured over to Shaw, because, before I knew it, he was out there snapping photos right along side me. Turns out he’s got a real knack for it, if I may say so myself.

Shaw is almost always my second shooter, getting photos from a slightly different perspective than I’m focused on, and making people laugh along the way. We stayed with a huge family last year to document their family reunion, and I’m pretty sure they all considered Shaw a brother or son by the end of the week! He’s sure to make anyone feel comfortable and at home.

When he’s not out exploring or photographing with me, Shaw is a student at University of Idaho in the Professional Golf Management program. We’re both pretty stoked to see where the combo of photography and golf will take us in the coming years!
